How Tamil Nadu Revises Pay After a Central Pay Commission
Tamil Nadu Police SI pay is decided by the Tamil Nadu Government, not directly by the Central 8th Pay Commission. After the Centre implements a pay commission, states usually set up their own pay committee or pass an order adopting a revised pay matrix, sometimes months or years later and with their own fitment factor, DA rates and allowances. This calculator therefore uses the Central 7th CPC pay matrix at the equivalent level (Level 6) as a planning proxy.
