Who We Are
8th Pay Commission Calculator (8thpaycommissioncalculator.co.in) is an independent website run by an Indian web developer and publisher who builds free calculators and explainers for government employees. We are not connected to the Government of India, the 8th Central Pay Commission, DoPT, the Department of Expenditure or any state government.
Why This Site Exists
Every pay commission brings a flood of forwarded messages with "final" salary figures that turn out to be wrong. We built this site to give employees and pensioners something better: calculators that show their numbers transparently, clearly labelled as projections, with the method and sources on the page.
What You Will Find Here
- Calculators built on the official 7th CPC pay matrix (every cell rebuilt with the official 3% rule and checked against each level's maximum), with 8th CPC fitment factors shown as scenarios — from about 1.83x to the staff-side demand of 3.83x.
- Full salary breakdowns: Basic, DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, NPS/GPF, CGEGIS and approximate in-hand pay, before vs after.
- News and explainers on the Commission's work, written from primary sources such as 8cpc.gov.in, Lok Sabha replies, Gazette notifications and Labour Bureau data, with sources listed on each article.
How We Keep It Accurate
We follow a written Editorial Policy & Calculation Methodology. In short: we separate what is official from what is proposed or projected, we date every update, and we publish corrections openly on the page when we get something wrong.
