Our Principles
- Official vs proposed vs projected. We never present a demand or an estimate as a decision. Official facts are dated and sourced; union demands are attributed; our own projections are labelled as projections.
- Show the working. Every calculator shows the formula, the inputs it used and the assumptions behind them.
- No fake urgency. We do not publish "final salary" claims before the Government notifies them.

How the Calculators Work
- 7th CPC pay matrix. We rebuild every level (1–18 and 13A, plus UGC Academic Levels 10–12) with the official rule: each cell is the previous cell × 1.03, rounded to the nearest ₹100. This reproduces the official maximum of every level exactly.
- Pay fixation. Your basic pay × the chosen fitment factor, placed at the equal-or-next-higher cell of the projected matrix, the method used by the 7th CPC.
- Projected matrix. Each 7th CPC cell × fitment factor, rounded to ₹100.
- Salary structure. Basic + DA + HRA + Transport Allowance (+ DA on TA), minus NPS/UPS (10% of Basic + DA) or GPF (min. 6%) and CGEGIS.
- Arrears. Month by month: (revised basic + new DA) − (old basic + old DA already paid), with July increments. New DA is estimated as (1 + old DA) ÷ 1.58 − 1, rounded down.
- Gratuity. Government: ¼ × (Basic + DA) × completed six-monthly periods, max 16.5 × (Basic + DA), ceiling ₹25 lakh. Gratuity Act: (Basic + DA) × 15/26 × years, ceiling ₹20 lakh.

How We Label Information
- Official: confirmed by a Government notification, the Commission's website or Parliament.
- Demand / proposal: figures from employee bodies such as NC-JCM, always attributed.
- Projection / estimate: our calculations. Every calculator page carries an accuracy note.
Corrections Policy
If we get something wrong, we fix it and add a dated correction note on the page explaining what changed. Readers can report errors via our Report Bug form or contact.8thpaycommissioncalculator@gmail.com. We aim to review every report within 48 hours.
Recent Changes
- 25 September 2026 Corrected eight news pages that described future steps (report, approval, notification, arrears schedule) as already completed; fixed the gratuity formula; corrected 7th CPC entry pay values (Level 3: ₹21,700; Level 13: ₹1,18,500; Level 15: ₹1,82,200); rebuilt all calculators with full salary breakdowns; merged near-duplicate state pages into hub calculators; made the contact forms functional.
