Central Government employees are the primary beneficiary group of every Pay Commission, and the 8th Pay Commission is no different. This free calculator lets any Central Government employee — from Level 1 (Group C) to Level 15 (Apex Scale) — instantly estimate their revised basic pay, monthly increase and annual increase once the new fitment factor is applied to their existing 7th CPC basic salary.
Fitment Factor Applied: 0.00x
Increase: ₹0 per month
Annual Increase: ₹0
⚠️ Important Note on Accuracy
This calculator produces an estimate based on publicly discussed 8th Pay Commission fitment logic and historical Pay Commission patterns. It is not an official government tool. Always cross-check your final figures with your Pay & Accounts Office (PAO), DDO, or HR department once the official 8th CPC notification is published. How the Central Government Salary Calculation Works
Every Pay Commission revision uses a fitment factor — a single multiplier applied uniformly to your existing basic pay to arrive at the new basic pay. Under the 7th CPC, this multiplier was a flat 2.57x across all levels. Discussions around the 8th CPC suggest a graded fitment factor that increases slightly as you move up the pay matrix, rewarding higher responsibility levels marginally more, while still guaranteeing that nobody's revised basic pay falls below the new minimum for their level.
Our calculator applies the following logic:
- You select your current Pay Level (as per the 7th CPC pay matrix).
- You enter your current basic pay drawn under the 7th CPC.
- The tool multiplies your basic pay by the applicable fitment factor for your level.
- It compares this figure against the new minimum basic pay notified for that level, and picks whichever is higher — exactly how real Pay Commission implementations work.
- The monthly and annual increase are then computed and displayed instantly.
8th CPC Fitment Factor Table (Level-wise Estimate)
The table below summarizes the fitment factors and estimated new minimum basic pay used in this calculator. These figures track closely with the range widely discussed by employee federations (2.57x to 3.55x) and will be updated the moment the official 8th CPC report and government Resolution are published.
| Pay Level | 7th CPC Minimum Basic | Estimated Fitment Factor | Estimated 8th CPC Minimum Basic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Level 1 – 5 | ₹18,000 – ₹29,200 | 2.57x | ₹46,260 – ₹75,044 |
| Level 6 | ₹35,400 | 2.67x | ₹94,518 |
| Level 7 | ₹44,900 | 2.76x | ₹1,23,924 |
| Level 8 | ₹47,600 | 2.86x | ₹1,36,136 |
| Level 9 | ₹53,100 | 2.96x | ₹1,57,176 |
| Level 10 | ₹56,100 | 3.05x | ₹1,71,105 |
| Level 11 | ₹67,700 | 3.15x | ₹2,13,255 |
| Level 12 | ₹78,800 | 3.25x | ₹2,56,100 |
| Level 13 | ₹1,18,600 | 3.35x | ₹3,97,310 |
| Level 14 | ₹1,44,200 | 3.45x | ₹4,97,490 |
| Level 15 | ₹2,18,200 | 3.55x | ₹7,74,610 |
Worked Example
Suppose a Central Government employee is at Level 7 with a current basic pay of ₹52,000. Applying the estimated fitment factor of 2.76x gives a calculated basic of ₹1,43,520. Since this is higher than the new minimum for Level 7 (₹1,23,924), the employee's revised basic pay would be ₹1,43,520 — a monthly increase of ₹91,520 and an annual increase of over ₹10.98 lakh, before accounting for Dearness Allowance, HRA and Transport Allowance, which are calculated separately on top of the new basic.
What This Number Doesn't Include
Remember that "basic pay" is only one part of your total in-hand salary. Your actual gross salary will also include:
- Dearness Allowance (DA): Reset to zero at the time of implementation and then grows every six months.
- House Rent Allowance (HRA): Calculated as a percentage of the new basic pay based on your city classification — try our HRA Calculator.
- Transport Allowance (TA): A fixed slab-based allowance that also typically rises with each Pay Commission.
- NPS/Pension contributions which are deducted from the gross to arrive at net in-hand pay.
